Trump strikes again at Cruz over “New York values” remark
The Donald Trump-Ted Cruz bromance isn’t just over: it’s turned into all-out war.
Cruz criticized what he calls “New York values” in an attempt to distinguish himself from his Republican opponent Donald Trump, who was born in Queens, by saying the real estate mogul “embodies NY values”.
Cruz was born on Canadian soil to an American-born mother and a Cuban father.
In recent weeks, Trump has raised questions about whether Cruz’s birth in Canada disqualifies him from becoming president.
“I recognize that Donald is dismayed that his poll numbers are falling in Iowa”, Cruz said.
“I think Ted Cruz has actually created a lot of anger, not only here, but a lot of people around this country are going to see this as divisive, negative and I think he owes the people of NY an apology”, De Blasio told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

The largest third-party registration is the Independence Party: It has been known to endorse Mike Bloomberg, who registered as a Republican to run for mayor of New York City, but which also supported the Democratic nominee for New York’s governor several elections in a row.
“Now, I hope that was the apology they were looking for”, Cruz said to laughter and applause.
The “birther” argument was a non-issue, Cruz replied, adding that Trump’s motivations were obvious.
“I am from NY”.
He repeated the attack throughout the week on Fox News and on the stage of the sixth Republican presidential debate Thursday night hosted by the Fox Business Network. I think that’s ludicrous. Trump said during Thursday night’s debate. Pressed on the point, Mr. Cruz then rang the Iowa conservative bells of “socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay-marriage, focus around money and the media”.
But Cruz tried to use Trump’s own previous words against him in response. “When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than NY”.
“If he had any class, he would apologize to the people of New York”, Cuomo said in a phone interview with NY1 Friday.
