Oscar Nominations 2016: Who Were Snubbed By The Oscars?

Others were quick to point out that Straight Outta Compton, the NWA biopic helmed by a black director and predominantly black producers, was nominated only for its white screenwriters. “Irony of ironies, the only actor who received a nomination for “Creed” is white”.

DiCaprio has missed out on an Oscar four times in the past.

The president of the Academy Awards’ voting body isn’t pleased with this year’s lack of diversity in its Oscar nominations. The postapocalyptic tale was second with 10 nominations, including picks for picture, director George Miller and editing. Similarly, no women cracked the Best Director race – but, sadly, that comes as no surprise.ABC will air the Oscars live on February 28, with Chris Rock hosting.
