At least 11 dead, 13 wounded in attack
A suicide attacker blew himself up in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad area on Sunday which killed 13 people, media reports said.
Khyogani said a guesthouse on the compound was crowded with people invited to a family event. The previous attack, for which the Islamic State group claimed responsibility, killed seven members of the Afghan security forces.
Shinwari’s father, tribal elder Malek Osman, was among those injured. Samiullah was wounded in the attack, but not seriously, according to Zabiullah Zamaray, another provincial council member.
On Wednesday, Islamic State claimed responsibility for a deadly gun and bomb siege targeting the Pakistani consulate in Jalalabad, in the first attack by the group on the Pakistani government.
Gunmen affiliated with IS have fought fierce battles with the Taliban, with IS taking control of at least four districts on the province’s border with Pakistan. The attack took place while prominent political leader Obaidullah Shinwari was celebrating his son’s release after being held captive by the Taliban.

The official was not authorized to speak with reporters about the talks so spoke on condition of anonymity. “The two groups are not only fighting the government, but also each other”. The Taliban have not been included in these meetings.
