Obama touts success in State of The Union

Many in the mortgage industry are eager to hear what the Obama Administration will have to say about the housing market-if he will address it at all.

In his last State of the Union address delivered to a Congress that has often hobbled his ambitions, Obama expressed regret over his own role in Washington’s political dysfunction, and lambasted Republican presidential candidates who he said are adding to the trouble. But make no mistake, the breakup was already complete.

Obama denounced “political hot air”.

So, after a year that saw the passage of several major policy bills on education, transportation and taxation, both parties have now pivoted firmly toward politics. While the party establishment seems to believe that Republicans compete best with Democrats when the GOP demonstrates diversity among its ranks, a “populist fever” (as Ingraham praised it) has rejected that big tent logic and made the most persistently anti-immigration and anti-establishment candidates the leaders on the Republican side of the 2016 race.

Trump, whom Obama did not mention by name in his speech, is leading the Republican field ahead of the November 8 election to pick the next president.

The President remains steadfast in saying we can do that and so much more, saying we’re not going to wait for anybody when it comes to taking whatever steps we can to help the middle class and keep our economic resurgence going.

Her speech came shortly after President Obama took his own veiled swipe at Trump in the State of the Union when he warned of “voices urging us to fall back into our respective tribes, to scapegoat fellow citizens who don’t look like us or pray like us or vote like we do or share the same background”. “The president wants to preserve his legacy, but he’s checking out”.
