According to Billboard, Bowie has charted seven albums in the top 10, but his highest charting release was 2013′s “The Next Day”, which debuted at No. 2.
“This year’s concert will certainly be remembered as a poignant celebration of his music by his friends, peers, and fans”, a statement on the organisers’ website said.
A source in NY told the Mirror: “There is no public or private service or a public memorial”.
A United States source further said that, “In many respects you don’t need a memorial or service to remember David by…you have his music instead”.
The outlet claims the “direct” cremation, which would have involved his remains being cremated without any sort of ceremony, would have cost between £480 and £630. He would have wanted to just disappear with no fuss, no big show, no fan-fare.

The pair had been working intermittently together since Space Oddity in 1960 and has produced Bowie albums including The Man Who Sold The World and The Next Day.
