Kong: Skull Island Finds its Queen in Brie Larson
It is now being reported that the Trainwreck co-star may be close to landing the lead female role in, Deadline reports.
Before leaving the cast, Simmons told MTV that the events of “Kong: Skull Island” would be set in 1971 Detroit.
Actress Brie Larson has just been announced to star opposite Tom Hiddleston in the adaptation, which doesn’t replace the roles of the two male stars, but does help to get some notable names on the film. The 25-year-old California native has been in major motion pictures for more than ten years.
Hollywood stars Brie Larson and Russell Crowe are reportedly on the cusp of joining the cast of “Kong: Skull Island“. She had a supporting role in 21 Jump Street but still hasn’t made the leap to blockbuster fare, instead growing her following through small, emotionally charged indies (an Oscar campaign for her performance in Short Term 12 had some serious steam behind it for a while). She’ll also be seen in Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire, with the crime thriller having recently finished shooting and still awaiting a release date.
Well, its starting to look like your favorite giant movie ape is going to have a bunch of new playmates to throw around in a fit of simian rage.
Kong: Skull Island is an origin story taking place on King Kong’s island as a team of explorers trek into his home.
The movie has been scheduled for a March 10, 2017 release, and the plan is to begin production either later this year or in early 2016. Be sure to check out Design & Trend for further developments.
