FIR launched against Nawazuddin Siddiqui for assaulting woman
A police complaint was filed, at Versova police station in Mumbai against the actor along with his associates, on Sunday for allegedly assaulting a girl over a parking dispute, a leading daily reported.
“There had already been a dispute between members of the society during a meeting on Saturday evening over utilisation of extra parking space”, said an officer with the Versova police. The complainant, a woman, who also lives in the same building intervened after she saw Siddiqui’s bodyguards arguing with the other resident. Yesterday, the housing society authorities, through a letter, had asked the 41-year-old actor to avoid parking his vehicle at a spot reserved for two-wheelers, police said. One of the notices was sent on January 16 informing him to stop illegally occupying the area.
The police have registered a complaint under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against Siddiqui for assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.
The victim named, Hina Shaikh registered a case against Nawaz at the Versova police station in Mumbai but it is learnt that the actor had not been arrested till late on Sunday evening.
However, denying the allegation, the actor’s manager, Anup Pandey said, “It is a false case”. It is a society issue which has been going on for a long time. He is awaiting the release of his movie Raees.
