Morgan AR Plus 4 announced, debuts tomorrow
The AR Plus 4 will be built in limited numbers, with Morgan planning to produce only 50 examples.
Honoring 65 years since the introduction of the Morgan Plus 4, the blokes in Malvern have enlisted the expertise AR Motorsport to create a special, limited-edition roadster with an attitude.
With the Morgan ARP4, the upgrades have gone even further. So is the rest of the package, which includes an all-new five-link rear suspension developed for the ARV6 racer replacing the leaf springs, adjustable shocks all around by Spax, larger brakes with vented discs up front, ADO 48R Yokohamas on lightweight 16 inch rims and an aluminum bulkhead to make the vehicle more rigid. The challenge for the design team was to echo the suggestion of modern performance and function whilst maintaining the appeals of on-road classic motoring. However, by altering the mix of how these are applied gives an entirely new and exciting impression.
Of paramount importance when undertaking the ARP4 project was to ensure that it not only performs exceptionally, but is also useable. As per usual for Morgan, things haven’t changed much these days.
Over standard production Morgan models, the AR Plus 4 gets soundproofing in the canvas hood and throughout the body to help reduce wind noise and general NVH. Morgan has also redesigned the dashboard for improved usability.
