Woman throws ink on Delhi CM Kejriwal
The official said she has been detained and is being questioned at Model Town Police Station in North-West Delhi.
The police said Arora is not married and lives with her family at Rama Vihar in outer Delhi’s Rohini sub-city. After some time, she threw ink at Kejriwal but it fell short of him though stains could be seen on the lectern.
Not only has ink been thrown at him in the past besides eggs and motor oil, he has been slapped and punched in the face.
There was a commotion following the ink attack, forcing Kejriwal to halt his speech for around seven minutes. The woman accused Kejriwal of doing CNG scam.
The woman, who said her name was Bhawana, claimed to be a part of the Aam Aadmi Sena’s Punjab unit and was protesting over a “CNG scam”, an eyewitness told a television news channel.
“They have done scam in CNG and I have evidence to support it”, the woman claimed. “Take papers from her. Let her go”, he said.
Sisodia said lax security by police was the reason for the incident.
“If the Delhi police can not protect the chief minister, how will they protect the people?” was the refrain across social media platforms and television shows.
“If ink can be thrown, it can also be a bomb or an acid attack on the CM”, he added. Later in the evening, the Delhi police also issued a statement reading, “Certain allegations have been levelled against the Delhi police by some functionaries of AAP and even by Hon’ble Deputy CM of Delhi”.
In attendance at Kejriwal’s thanksgiving address were his cabinet colleagues, civil defence volunteers, Delhi Police personnel and members of other agencies involved in implementation of the 15-day odd-even vehicle curbs.
The swiftness with which Sisodia started blaming the BJP raises suspicion whether the act was staged by the AAP itself to attract eyeballs and somehow be in news, he said.
