Battle Between Trump And Cruz Goes Nuclear
New Yorkers have taken aim at Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, who spoke disparagingly of “New York values” at a debate this week.
Cuomo, who is backing Hillary Clinton for president and was a cabinet member under former President Clinton, has criticized Trump during the presidential campaign, but defended NY and even Trump’s comments about the nation rallying around NY after the 9/11 attacks.
It appears we continue to have scenes like in Thursday night’s sixth GOP debate on Fox Business Channel where Cruz is put on the defensive by front-runner Donald Trump over the senator’s status – again and again. “My friend Donald Trump said that he had his lawyers look at this from every which way, and there was no issue there”. One can imagine that many NY voters who were considering checking the Cruz box will now switch to another candidate.
“Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal, pro-abortion or pro- gay marriage, focused around money and the media”.
Chief among the offended is New York City’s mayor, who demanded an apology, that Mr. Cruz gave, although in a decidedly sarcastic, self-serving way.
“You know, I think most people know exactly what NY values are”, the candidate said.
Cruz’s criticism of NY, he said, was a “total disgrace”.
“It seems Donald has a lot of nervous energy — it seems Donald doesn’t react well when he’s going down in the polls”, Cruz said before a stop in Ft.
“Believe me, if I could say ‘liberal Jews, ‘ I would”, Killam said.
“Ted Cruz was born in Canada and was a Canadian citizen until 15 months ago”.
On Friday, the Real Clear Politics average of polls shows Trump re-taking the lead from Cruz with 27.3 to 26.9 percent.
Some of the most memorable moments of the debate included testy exchanges between Trump and Texas Sen.
So the GOP conservative explained: “Listen, there are many, many wonderful, wonderful working men and women in the state of NY”.
“If someone tells you they’re tea party, you can’t be tea party and at the same time have supported TARP”, Cruz said, using an acronym for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, a controversial Wall Street bailout program.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Trump and Cruz are in a head-to-head battle in the important state of Iowa.
Catsimatidis said he thought NY values were about letting all voices be heard and thriving together in the same city. “I think that Ted Cruz meant that we try to shut out certain people”, he added.
A vital point in his journey will be the debate from SC, which could cement the nomination.
The Times said the disclosure casts doubt on the Cruz narrative that he fueled his come-from-behind victory in the Texas Republican primary by liquidating his family’s savings.
