Oscars 2016: Leonardo DiCaprio ‘feels great’ after being nominated for The Revenant

Should Inarritu win again this year for The Revenant, he will be joining just two other directors – Joseph Mankiewi-cz and John Ford – who won the award for two consecutive years.
The best actress field is led by favorite Brie Larson for “Room”, along with Lawrence, Blanchett (her seventh nod), Saoirse Ronan (“Brooklyn”) and Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years”).

“Of course I am disappointed”, Isaacs told Deadline in response to the Oscar nominations, adding that 2015 was a great year in film, nonetheless.

The snubs include Johnny Depp, who did some of his best work in “Black Mass”, and Helen Mirren who was bitingly good as gossip queen Hedda Hopper in “Trumbo“.
Another record breaker this year is Steven Spielberg, who produced and directed “Bridge of Spies”.
Having opened last November, BoxOffice.com analyst Shawn Robbins says, Spotlight has enjoyed “a slow burn and a slow build. The big payoff comes with nominations because that momentum will keep growing at the box office leading up to, and possibly after, Oscar Sunday”.
Comedian Chris Rock is slated to host the event. “Carol” landed nominations for its leading ladies but not picture or director Todd Haynes, and Aaron Sorkin, a man with a way with words, didn’t make the cut for his “Steve Jobs” screenplay.
