List of Winners for the Critics’ Choice Awards
Best editing: “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
“Trainwreck” did lose best comedy in the end – not to “Carol”, but to “The Big Short”.
“The Hateful Eight” and “Furious 7” won the award for best score and song respectively.
Best Song: Wiz Khalifa for “See You Again” from “Furious 7”.
Meanwhile, the second season of Fargo scored four awards including best movie made for television or limited series.
Perhaps the biggest victor of the night was action film “Mad Max: Fury Road”, which scooped nine awards from thirteen nominations, including Best Action Movie and top prizes for the film’s stars, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.
When presenting the previously announced MVP award to “Trainwreck” star and writer Amy Schumer, he joked that the only way to get her there was to make up an award just for her.
Best sci-fi or horror movie: “Ex Machina”.
Jennifer was out with husband Justin Theroux, who was looking dapper in a black suit and skinny tie and was up for Best Actor in his TV series in The Leftovers.
Best Actor in a Drama Series: Rami Malek, “Mr. Robot”. Nobody got their feelings hurt, but the comedy was far from tame and there was plenty of snark- the good kind.
Jeffrey Tambor, who plays a transgender father in Transparent, was named best actor in a comedy series and instructed the audience: “Change the world, it needs it”. The 9-year-old Room actor was not only adorable when he called winning the award the “best day of his life”, but seriously stole the show when he said he had the flawless place for his new trophy-the same shelf he has his Millenium Falcon on.
Best Actor in a Movie Made for Television: Idris Elba, “Luther”.
Best Guest Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series: Timothy Olyphant, “The Grinder”.
Best guest actor or actress in a drama series: Margo Martindale, “The Good Wife”.
From Hollywood’s hottest starlets slaying the red carpet with some fierce and fabulous fashions to Amy Schumer owning the show with her HIGHlarious speeches, tonight was another epic event!
