Apple European headquarters evacuated over security alert
Staff at Apple’s European headquarters in the city have been evacuated following a security alert but police have denied reports that the bomb disposal squad has been notified. The evacuation started at 10 a.m., according to The Irish Times, and is now over.
One woman tweeted that “the Apple staff evacuated following a bomb scare in Cork have now been allowed to return to work”.
Gardaí confirmed that they had carried out a search at the Hollyhill offices.
Around 4000 workers have been told to leave premises at Apple’s facilities in Lavitts Quay, Hollyhill and Model Farm Road.
Gardaí said they received an email at 8.30am this morning to say a bomb would go off at 10am at Apple.

Three different plants were completely evacuated after a possible security threat, according to the Irish Independent. The threats were made via the internet.
