David Bowie Was Planning Another Album
David Bowie’s latest album “Blackstar”, his 29th album was released on 9th December and is expected to break every record in the history in the days to come. “He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift”. Just two days before, on his birthday, he released his final album “Blackstar”, bidding farewell to a career spanning over five decades.
David Bowie will get the tribute concert he deserves when Carnegie Hall pays homage to the late singer in March.
It is thought the London- born singer’s funeral is likely to be held in NY, where he moved to in 1993 after marrying his second wife, Iman, and where they raised their daughter, Alexandria.
Bowie, the other-worldly musician who broke pop and rock boundaries with his creative musicianship, nonconformity, striking visuals and a genre-spanning persona he christened Ziggy Stardust, died of cancer Sunday aged 69.
Bowie did the same when he re-released 2013’s The Next Day, with the deluxe edition featuring a smattering of unheard songs and remixes by the likes of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy – who lended his percussion skills to Blackstar.
Music legend David Bowie was famously private during his lifetime – and in death, as a string of questions about the circumstances of his passing remained unanswered on Tuesday. “He said that because he knew that he may not always be able to be around”.
A further seven albums have landed in the Top 100, while in the singles charts, nine of his tracks have achieved the feat, leading with 1977’s Heroes at 25. “So I’m just going to email you, David Bowie, and if you can check your email in space or heaven or wherever you are, you don’t have to email me back”. The family have also requested that those close to Bowie do not give interviews.
Sir Paul McCartney described Bowie as someone who “played a very strong part in British musical history”.
