Rumor Killer: Styles Not Ruled Out of Royal Rumble
One of the most popular events on the WWE circuit is the Royal Rumble, a contest where 30 wrestlers participate in a battle royal style match where each participant is eliminated by being thrown over the top rope onto the floor.
One of the obvious names that have been doing the rounds is that of Triple H. Triple H is out with a storyline injury after he was brutally laid out by Roman Reigns at TLC. Soon thereafter Mr. McMahon announced that Reigns will not only defend his title but he’ll do it in the Royal Rumble match against 29 other men. The bout has become one of the biggest on the WWE calendar, taking place each January and effectively kicking off the heavily-hyped “Road To WrestleMania”. The universal groan in response to Roman Reigns’ 2014 win was a serious warning sign that the Royal Rumble brand is slipping in its reputation as an exciting, satisfying night for the biggest WWE fans. Case and point last week on Raw, Reigns defended his title against Sheamus with Mr. McMahon as the guest referee.
First: As much as I’d love to see Daniel Bryan wrestling again, I’d much rather see him safe and healthy, so if the reports of him not being cleared to compete are totally accurate and above-board, then I hope he enjoys the 2016 Royal Rumble from outside the ring.
