Coachella 2016 line up to include a reunited Guns N’ Roses
Although the hard rock band never broke up, lead vocalist Rose has been the only original member left in the band since bassist McKagan and lead guitarist Slash left in the 1990s.
Get ready festival goers – the Coachella line-up has been unveiled, and it’s a goodun. All fears were put to rest when both Slash and Duff McKagan sent out their own messages via social media.
The annual two-weekend music festival out of Indio, California, announced its official lineup on Monday, said The Hollywood Reporter.
“Over the course of the past decade, Guns N’ Roses have performed sold out shows and headlined festivals worldwide following the critically acclaimed release of 2008’s RIAA platinum-certified Chinese Democracy”.
The last time Axl Rose and Slash played together was in 1993 in Buenos Aires, but now the reunited band are in talks to play up to 25 football stadiums in the USA this summer – including the new Las Vegas Arena – according to Billboard, with tickets thought to be priced between $250 and $275. Frank Ferrer, who has played for Guns N’ Roses since 2006, will continue in that role. Axl was scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight, apparently to confirm the news, but has since pulled out – meaning there still could be a twist in the tale.
Another influential group, LCD Soundsystem, will also reunite for Coachella.
Harris, LCD Soundsytem, Ellie Goulding, Jack Ü, M83, Zedd, Disclosure, CHVRCHES, Major Lazer, Flume and Miike Snow all incorporate some electronic dance into their music.
Festival passes go one sale Wednesday, January 6th at 11am PT, with a run on Urban Outfitters locations across Southern California expected soon afterwards. It’s “confirmed! Guns N’ Roses is Headlining Coachella 2016!!”
