Panthers and Patriots 2/1JFs for Super Bowl
After the lower-seeded, visiting teams won all four games on Wild-Card Weekend, the higher-seed, home teams won all four games in the Divisional Round this weekend.
The Cardinals and the Panthers square off for the NFC championship at 5:40 p.m. CST Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
The championship games are set, with the top two seeds in each conference coming through with victories over the weekend.
Between these four quarterbacks there are five Super Bowl championships, seven league Most Valuable Player awards, and likely this season’s MVP as well. “We’re not one game away”. The Panthers gave up 19.2 points per game, while the Cardinals gave up 19.6 points per game. This will be the Panthers’ fourth trip to the NFC championship game, and their first time as host. “New England is road chalk because it is the more complete team, and the bettors aren’t going to back off that side”, Lester said. The Cardinals did not get a stellar performance from quarterback Carson Palmer, who threw two interceptions and also made several other questionable throws, but still came away with a 26-20 overtime victory. “As a rookie, you’re just happy to be there”. “If we could have just skipped right on over halftime and just kept playing I think we might have been in much better shape”.
Jonathan Stewart, returning from a foot injury, scored two touchdowns after jump-starting the Panthers with a 59-yard sprint on their first play. Palmer was injured and did not play in that game. I look forward to him representing in the Super Bowl and capping off Carolina’s year with an 18-1 record and Super Bowl championship. While the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 23-16, it was not an overly impressive win. “You definitely want that to play a huge factor in winning”. The Seahawks, who were attempting to join Green Bay (1965-67), Miami (1971-73) and Buffalo (1991-93) as the only teams to reach three straight Super Bowls, responded in the second half, scoring all 24 points while shutting out Newton and the Panthers’ offense, but it wasn’t enough.
The Patriots managed to both win and cover against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, grabbing the 27-20 victory as a 6-point home favorite on the betting lines.
