Minecraft: Story Mode Available on Wii U This Week
The Wii U version of the game will also have Wii U-specific features, including off-TV play, mirroring and touchscreen controls on the GamePad.
The backstory of the world of Minecraft has never been fully explored, but Telltale’s new title aims to add some depth to the game’s universe. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something awful.
Story Mode, from developer Telltale Games, is the same type of episodic release that should be familiar to fans of the developer, but with the same building mechanics that have made Minecraft such a success. Look for further casting details to come!
January 21, is the date Wii U owners across the US and Europe will be able to play Telltale Games’ latest adventure game, marking Telltale’s first foray onto Nintendo’s HD console.
“Telltale Games is synonymous with quality gaming and compelling content”, said Steve Singer, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at Nintendo of America Inc.
Story Mode episode one, The Order of the Stone, costs $4.99 (UK price TBA). Episodes two through five will be added in the coming weeks as they release, with a Season Pass available for $20 United States dollars.
The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, “The Order of the Stone”, is available on Thursday, Jan. 21 on the Wii U, marking this as the first time that Telltale has launched a game on that system, although the company brought several games to the Wii.
