Louis van Gaal admits he also finds team boring
Maybe the traffic. There are many reasons why someone might leave early.
Manchester United’s players and manager Louis van Gaal “look bored” and are “going through the motions”, says the club’s former midfielder Paul Scholes.
Speaking during a news conference at Carrington, the 64-year old said: “There are matches that I have enjoyed very much”. You never know what is the reason.
‘You can be very negative but we are in the next round, won two matches in a very bad period. “But we are in the next round”.
Following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over League One opposition, former club great Paul Scholes claimed both Van Gaal and his players looked bored.
Van Gaal’s side has now won back-to-back games after an eight-match winless run and will be hoping this is the start of a run that will bring them first FA Cup success since 2004.
Ian Wright has become the latest high profile football pundit to stick the boot into Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United team.
“It’s more easy to defend than attack and at the end we got the penalty but it was a deserved penalty”.
Lazio want £40 million for Anderson so Van Gaal doesn’t expect any transfer business to be done in January although he would like additions.
“We have reconsidered and we think we have to build him up for the game and not to risk too much, by putting him in a match”. “You talk about 31 shots in the last two games, they’ve only scored two goals”. “Then you can help your players”, Van Gaal said. “Otherwise you are not a good Manchester United player”.
On managers that are more vocal from the bench, he added: ‘I doubt if they have real influence’. And Rooney’s penalty was only the second shot on target United managed against a team 47 places below them. At this moment we have a lack of creativity and you can see that, but they have played well in the past, so they can do it.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has been ruled out of the trip to St James’ Park after picking up a knee injury at the weekend but Ashley Young is set to return to the side. “And with Memphis and Lingard, I know it is like that”.
