Android Marshmallow hits UK HTC One M8, M9 coming soon
Reportedly, the same firmware build number will also arrive to European variants of the HTC One M8 and One M9 along with carrier released variants some time next week.
Sony, on the other hand, announced that up to Xperia and Xperia Z3 owners can update their handsets to Android 6.0 through the company’s test program called “Concept for Android: Marshmallow”.
So yeah, you’ll want to snag your Android 6.0 update as soon as its available. If everything goes as planned, HTC One M8 owners on Sprint should get a taste of Marshmallow within the next couple of days or so.
After installing the update on the phone, users will be experiencing a new UI and design changes in the software, and the changelog also shows that the company has enhanced the security of the smartphone through this update. Even Marshmallow does come to these select Motorola phones, there could be a delay depending on the subscriber like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. The majority of third-party OEMs are still on Lollipop though it’s likely that many will be updated to Marshmallow in the near future. Are you guys looking forward towards the Marshmallow update?
The rollout to its subscribers will be coming out in stages, GSM Arena reports, sot the update might not all be received by subscribers who have the LG G4 at once. It’s one of those minor updates you would want to download right away. The update comes with features like Doze, Android’s new app permissions, and a whole host of under-the-hood improvements that should provide better performance.
One of the issues with the newest version of Android is that Google will give it to their own Nexus devices first, and then it will slowly roll out to other Android devices, like the ones made by Motorola. Since its launch, the handset saw a series of updates including Android 4.4.3 and Android 5.0.
