Twitter is down for some users
Some Twitter users had to do without early Tuesday after sporadic outages knocked the social media site offline in Europe.
Users across the globe are unable to either access their accounts, read or send tweets.
Twitter was first launched in 2006 and has around 230million users worldwide.
“We are aware of the issue and are working toward a resolution”, it added.
Visitors to the website were being greeted by a message telling them that “Something is technically wrong”.
Some tweets are now starting to get through using Tweetdeck, but the service is still somewhat hit-and-miss.
Twitter, created in 2006, has more than 500 million users – 302 million of which are now active.
Twitter suffered outages in several parts of the world on Tuesday.
Here’s how it looked at 8.30am United Kingdom time.
The problems returned today, and at 08:53 AM GMT, Twitter was down for a few hours (could not establish exactly how long). On Monday, Twitter was also experiencing some problems randomly throughout the day. According to Down Detector, Twitter also lost service on January 15 and January 2 of 2016.
One user on Facebook wrote: “Twitter broke forcing me to respond to text messages”.
