Roman Harper shows what collision with Marshawn Lynch did to his helmet
A primary component of these Seattle Seahawks rumors is just how much money the team could save by cutting Marshawn Lynch.
Lynch has two seasons remaining on his contract, but neither are guaranteed. “You know everybody here in this town is going to wish him the best because he’s been so special as a talent”. Now the Seahawks’ biggest offseason question looms: Was this Lynch’s final game for Seattle? He had abdomen surgery on November 25, but returned for Sunday’s divisional round matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina jumped out to a 31-point halftime lead, then had to hold off a furious Seahawks rally to win 31-24 to advance to next Sunday’s NFC championship game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Carroll said of the way that Wilson and the passing game came around this season that he “couldn’t be more excited about it, really”.
Lynch received just eight touches in the game, rushing six times for 20 yards and catching a pair of passes for 15 yards. He worked hard to get back and made it back to play.
That’s right, during one of those eight touches in the game, Lynch took out his frustration on Harper by lowering the boom and absolutely trucking him in the process.
While Lynch was out, rookie Thomas Rawls emerged as a potential replacement long term.
The coach said of his offensive line: “I don’t think we’ve nailed it yet”. The players were upbeat leaving Monday knowing how good they are and can continue to be, Carroll said.
Carroll made it sound as if the Seahawks will make every effort to re-sign wide receiver and 2012 undrafted rookie Jermaine Kearse, who could become an unrestricted free agent in March.
