IB Alert: Rajiv Gandhi-Style Assasination Plot Hatched Against PM Narendra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally at Chakkar Maidan in Muzaffarpur today and kick off the NDA’s campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections due later this year, Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said.
“Top officials of Bihar and intelligence agencies discussed the security arrangements for Modi’s visit to Patna and the Muzaffarpur rally on Saturday”, an official of the state home department said.
He will also inaugurate the new campus of IIT Patna, situated at Bihta, as well as the Jagdishpur-Haldia gas pipeline project, through remote control from Patna itself. The campaign, which was launched on July 11 with a daylong dharna and fast at block headquarters towns across the state, was started to highlight the “anti-Bihar decisions” of the Modi government.
According to the reports, IB has alerted the Bihar government and the Special Protection Group officials camping in the state to be on high alert for a possible suicide attack against PM Narendra Modi. Sources said more members of the special protection group (SPG), assigned with the task of providing security to the Prime Minister, have arrived in the state capital to beef up security around NaMo.

Modi’s rally at Gandhi Maidan here was rocked by serial bomb blasts on October 27, 2013, leaving five people dead and almost 100 injured.
Addressing people on the occasion, Congress leaders, including Ramesh, called Modi “Maunendra Modi” (silent Modi) for keeping mum over a series of scandals in the central government and BJP-ruled states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Accompanied by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, he will flag off Rajgir-Biharsharif-Daniawan-Fatuha passenger train and Patna-Mumbai AC Suvidha Express at Veterinary College ground in Patna. “In Bihar.
