Although J, whose real name is Jermaine Lamarr Cole, rarely talks about his relationship, he did previously admit that being in a long-term relationship already felt like a marriage.

Since he had no other option, the musician confirmed that he and his longtime love Melissa Heholt had, in fact, tied the knot!

The Lights Please star was interviewed by Creed moviemaker Coogler as part of the #MLKNow event, which was held to celebrate Martin Luther King Day in honour of the late civil rights activist in New York City on Monday (18Jan16). “Oh what is that my man?” said the “GOMD” rapper as the audience laughed. “Was that off limits?” he asked. “But it’s all good”. She could of course be using another username to keep her personal info secret, which would definitely be smart. News, the pair dated through college and have been together 10 years. Cole said, apparently dumbfounded. “But it’s amusing because that same level of like crying and breaking down that I experienced just from watching your film is exactly what inspired the song in a sense”.
