Scott Brown: Donald Trump is ‘Next President of the United States’
A rolling brawl between the two U.S. Republican presidential front-runners didn’t abate Sunday as Donald Trump termed his closest competitor, Ted Cruz, “nasty” and the Texas senator stood his ground in criticizing the billionaire’s “New York values”. Even if Trump appeals to your heart and your emotions, Cruz told audiences in ways both stark and veiled, you need to vet him carefully.
During his speech, Cruz hits on Trump for supporting Democrats, Cruz also stated that, “We need a leader prepared to do whatever is needed to keep this country safe, typically, that doesn’t include spending time on Twitter. He didn’t report his bank loans”, Trump told the crowd, which continued to boo, reportedly loudly.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll the two candidates are virtually tied in Iowa, with Trump at 31% and Cruz 29%.
“It is amusing seeing the media elite in NY and D.C. run around with their hair on fire wondering what on Earth are NY values?” With the combination of Trump’s very small lead in Iowa and Cruz’s attacks on his home state, Trump made a decision to finally break from his good standing relationship with the Texas Senator, showing that primary season truly is the more vicious part of the presidential election cycle. He then brought up immigration and border security, a topic in which he has often given Trump credit for bringing to the forefront of the Republican primary.
Ted Cruz and his presidential candidate opponent Donald Trump have been exchanging remarks back and forth over the past weeks. “I’d do the public a big favor”, Trump said on ABC’s “This Week” when host George Stephanopoulos asked if he’d consider filing a lawsuit. The rich control everything, the lobbyists control everything, you know, you’re a normal Joe and you got no say.
Trump began the morning slamming Cruz in a series of tweets, taking a break to appear at a campaign event in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, before resuming his tirade.
I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians in that state.
To do that (assuming, for the moment, a Trump victory), he has to get by not only Rubio and Cruz, but also former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
So Trump says Cruz is a good guy and then Trump says Cruz is a nasty guy. I think she really works hard.
The war of words between Cruz and Trump has intensified in recent days, with Trump going on the offensive over Cruz’s eligibility to be on the ballot given his Canadian birth and for Cruz’s failure to disclose loans received from Citibank and Goldman Sachs for his 2012 Senate race. “We have a conflict society”, Weaver said, “so if you’re not playing in those conflicts, you’re penalized by the pundits – but not the voters”. “A total disgrace. So you know, I had to say it, I thought what he said was very sad”.
Mr Trump responded last night by saying Mr Cruz had taken money from backers who are pro-gay marriage.
“He’s taken money from people that are very much into the whole gay marriage situation”, he said on This Week. He moved to the United States at age 4.
Trump, whose real-estate empire is based in NY, had the best of that exchange, as he invoked the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001.
