Manny Pacquiao looks forward to ‘serving the Filipino people’ after farewell bout
“I’m so happy to be hanging up my gloves after this fight”, said Pacquiao in a press conference at the famous Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The bout will be the third between Pacquiao and Bradley, and it’s been said that it will be Pac-Man’s final fight because the Filipino is running for a senate seat in the Philippines.
With a beatific politician’s smile on his face, Manny Pacquiao calmly insisted he’ll step out of a boxing ring for the final time on April 9 after his third fight with Timothy Bradley.
“I ve heard that Manny Pacquiao chose me because he knows me”, Bradley said. “I’m sure I will feel sad but that’s life. I m ending because I want to serve the people”.
Pacquiao, who holds a record of 57-6-2, 38 KOs, was the first boxer in history to win 10 world titles in eight different weight divisions.
Bradley, (33-1-1, 13 KOs), won a highly controversial split decision against Pacquiao in their first meeting in 2012. I think it will be a great boxing match in the ring.
Arum also said the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Bradley will be called “the Donald Trump undercard”, featuring all Hispanic fighters as a response to the Republican presidential contender who has been vocal about deporting undocumented immigrants.
Bradley hired veteran trainer Teddy Atlas before his last bout with Brandon Rios, celebrating the change with ninth-round stoppage victory.
“I think it honestly has a lot t do with my performance in the last fight”.
“He used to give (Pacquiao) a drink every day before we worked out and I asked him, ‘What’s in that drink?,’ and he would never tell me”, Roach stated, adding that he, not Ariza, would be blamed if something went wrong.
Pacquiao, 37, is a congressman seeking election on May 9 to become one of 12 senators in the Philippines.
This time, Bradley believes Pacquiao will be in for a shock since he swears that he is not the same guy the Filipino southpaw fought. I think it opened a lot of eyes.
