Texans’ JJ Watt to undergo groin surgery Tuesday

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was in control all afternoon, completing 17 of 22 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown.

Now the Patriots will finally get a crack at avenging their most embarrassing loss in recent memory, a 41-14 whooping at the hands of the Chiefs in October, 2014 in Kansas City. J.J. Watt was hurt in the third quarter and Jadeveon Clowney never even put on his jersey. Instead, Watt got stuffed for a one-yard loss, and Brian Hoyer came in to throw a pick on the next play.

“I’l know exactly what it is when we get it looked at further.” explained Watt of his injured groin. “(Right tackle) Donald (Stephenson) and (left tackle) Eric Fish(er) did a great job of kind of getting after him, stopping him from getting started”.

The first reason is that the Kansas City Chiefs are in momentum counts and hence have a huge advantage. Spencer Ware had 67 yards on 16 carries, including a five-yard score in the fourth quarter. He missed the last regular-season game because of the foot injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of Houston’s win over the Titans on December 27.
