Will Barry Tell Patty He’s ‘The Flash’ Tonight?
In this episode, Patty worries about Barry being guarded. In the end it is Wells-2 who wins out, extracting a sample from the Turtle and presumably killing him in the process.
The Turtle has been committing a series of robberies around the city, going after people’s most-cherished possessions. Barry quickly figures out the next target (a press conference at the police station where some stolen jewels are being presented to their rightful owner).
Of course, predictably, despite Harry’s warning, just as he is about to tell her, Turtle shows up. Alas, things go sideways and Patty pulls her gun on The Turtle.
I am glad that Patty being saved doesn’t result in her and Barry’s relationship being resolved with a bow, neat and tidy.
So Barry decides now is the time to bring Patty into the fold, and what better time to do so than in the midst of a metahuman trap.
Later that night, The Turtle tracks Patty back to her home and takes her hostage, assuming that The Flash’s decision to save her means she is important to him. The effects of the Turtle’s power are top-notch, and I like that. She’s really the only one willing to confront Wally and say, “This is risky, stop”. Iris tells Barry she told her to talk to Barry herself.
She’s quite tough. We know that Iris on Earth-1 to be a tough cookie but Iris on Earth-2 is definitely a lot stronger.
Will Iris get a chance to fix her relationship with Francine before her illness worsens?
For starters, it’s getting obvious that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is about to reveal his secret superhero identity to girlfriend Patty Spivot, played by One Tree Hill star Shantel VanSanten.
Does working for Scott put her at odds with Barry and the other members of Team Flash? .
While The Turtle shapes as merely another “villain of the week”, the main story will see the return of Tony Zodd’s Zoom.
Barry leaves without telling.
The details concerning Barry’s secret are unknown. But Barry is too late. Will Barry be able to subdue him?
If there’s a relationship that needed to falter this week, and did, it was Patty and Barry’s, a relationship I’ve never bought since the beginning with Patty seeming too much like a mash up of Barry and Felicity’s personalities. Fans are looking forward to the upcoming episode to see if he will reveal his real identity to Patty, shared Earn The Necklace. Wally blows them off, chafing against Joe’s efforts to be his father. Everyone’s just trying their best to make him feel a part of the family. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you! Which is fine, because I don’t want to see a character I love so much be tortured all the time or anything like that, but he has needed a little something more to do lately. Joe eventually discovers Wally is an accomplished drag racer; however, he uses his winnings to pay for his mother’s medical bills.
Caitlin and Jay have continued growing closer. “It’s really eating at him”, Kreisberg said. But then Zoom actually drops her, she falls to (presumably) her death, and Barry makes no effort to try to catch her. Or, at least, I assume that is what he is doing. Since he was erased from time when Eddie killed himself, are we dealing with the Earth-Two version of Reverse Flash or are there time-travel shenanigans at work? Although the original Reverse Flash got erased from existence at the end of season one, perhaps the Earth 2 version of Harrison Wells hides beneath that costume?
What did you think of this episode of The Flash?
The man in the yellow suit might not be exactly what audiences have seen last season.
Patton: For right now he’s just at the point where he’s not really a fan of the Flash and he doesn’t really think that the Flash is the hero that everyone thinks he is. What is this mysterious illness Jay is suffering from? Let us know and check out a preview of the next all-new episode below.
Find out next week on Tuesday, 8 p.m. on the CW.
