Ed Sheeran Defends Taylor Swift’s VMA Tweets: She’s ‘Done Nothing Wrong’
“Dear @taylorswift13 and @NICKIMINAJ, I love you both”.
Nominees for video of the year are Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood“, Beyonce’s “7/11,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.”
It’s by far the most talked-about Twitter debate of 2015, but it looks like Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj have publicly smoothed things over. Like any good member of Swift’s star-studded posse, the “Photograph” singer defended his gal pal, saying, “Nicki Minaj is nominated for five…Why are you getting worked up?” I can’t believe we’re Sheeran this in public.
The spat between Taylor and Nicki – which inspired Bruno and Ed’s social media prank – erupted after the hip hop star bemoaned being nominated for just three VMA awards, with her “Feeling Myself” promo missing out entirely and “Anaconda” being overlooked for the top prize, Video of the Year.
But did you know that Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran also had a go at each other?
Nicki replied: “Huh? U must not be reading my tweets”.
The “When I Was Your Man” hitmaker hit back by telling Ed to show himself for what he said cut him deep.
“I’ve always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. But u should speak on this”.
Taylor said: “I thought I was being called out. You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on”. Nicki spent the rest of the night continuing to retweet fans supporting her rant about not being nominated and criticism racism in the media.
And soon we got Kim Kardashian-West putting her nose (or bum) right in the middle of it all, using her husband’s famous MTV VMA line, ‘Imma let you finish but…’ complete with photo of herself sprawled on the sofa in apparent Vogue Spain shoot.
