An inch of snow possible in Chattanooga Wednesday

The National Weather Service advises area residents to stay aware of conditions as they consider traveling for the rest of the week. For Saturday, the NWS was calling for a 40 percent chance of snow, mixing with rain after noon.
The first system is expected to breeze into the region Wednesday morning, bringing an expected 2 to 3 inches of snow throughout the Tri-Cities, with flurries expected through the rest of the day. “Light snow may linger into the overnight hours on Wednesday but little to no additional accumulation (is) expected”. Many roads are still snow covered, but it’s time to focus on the next possible storm for Friday.

Thursday’s forecast calls for a high of 43, with a 60% chance of more rain. Expect lows of 17 to 20 degrees. In Tennessee, the counties of Dyer, Lauderdale, Obion, and Tipton are in the advisory. Lows in the upper 20s. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent. We’re expecting for Friday’s winter weather to significantly impact driving and any outdoor activities you have planned. Rain is likely Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
Friday: 80 percent chance of rain. Highs should be into the mid 40s.
Wednesday Night: A chance of snow showers. His greatest concern is what could happen on Friday and Saturday. Thursday’s high will be 39 and the low 26.
