Sanders reverses course on gun immunity vote
In fact, when paired with other crucial figures and history, some believe that a Bernie Sanders presidency is, in fact, inevitable.
As Investors.com notes, “Hillary Clinton’s support among Democrats nationally has taken a serious tumble, falling eight points to 43 percent, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll”.
Before Clinton – or any Democratic candidate – officially announced their candidacy for the nomination, controversy of Clinton’s use of a private server when she was secretary of state dominated the discussion for the Democratic primary.
Sanders has already surpassed Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire polls. Some people believe me when I said – I mean, I swear to you, that’s true.
Clinton, who for the most part had ignored Sanders during the last few months, has of late attacked her main rival.
Clinton won Nevada on the strength of Latino voters in 2008, yet faltered among black voters across the South who backed Obama by 80%, after he proved that he could win white voters in Iowa.
Fallon and Clinton had a big laugh over the debate, even though Hillary said she probably wouldn’t watch it live.
She conducted the recent Register poll, which shows lopsided support for Sanders over Clinton among those groups.
Clinton’s change in mood may simply reflect that she is now running a race, rather than an early victory lap.
He is ahead in the polls in New Hampshire and surging ahead in Iowa – and, unlike Republican polls, his popularity is not a result of ridiculous name-calling and/or mudslinging. Her own husband lost both primaries before coming back to win the nomination and the presidency in 1992.
Clinton lambastes Sanders over his record on gun control – one area where he may be vulnerable with Democrats – especially for voting to shield gun manufacturers from lawsuits.
And the former Democratic president may not become the albatross that Republican candidate Donald Trump expects, either. “As I have said, I do want to make sure that this legislation does not negatively impact small gun stores in rural America that serve the hunting community”, Sanders said.
“We’re getting into that period before the caucus that I call the ‘Let’s get real period.’.Don’t talk to me about standing up to corporate interests and big powers”. And in Iowa, he has narrowed Clinton’s lead from 34 points to a mere four.
Martin O’Malley will also be appearing onstage Sunday night (just barely), though obviously the spotlight will be on the fight between Sanders and Clinton.
“I don’t know anybody in the whole wide world who thinks Democrats are going to win the entire House back in 2016 and get 60 votes in the Senate”, he said.
“It was probably never going be a straight line – we hoped it would be but feared it wouldn’t be”, said James Carville, the Democratic strategist on Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign and a longtime friend of the Clintons.
Sanders then started to turn his differences with Clinton, particularly on the consistency of the positions they have held, as a blunt object to hit her with.
Titled “Two Visions”, Sanders says in the ad that there are “two Democratic visions for regulating Wall Street”.
There’s no quit in her, President Clinton said, affirming this sentiment as he recited details of his wife’s biography.
