Whoopi Goldberg Rips Oscars for Lack of Diversity: ‘It Pisses Me Off’
Bure tweeted on Tuesday the flu was keeping her off camera.
“Why is this a conversation that we only have once a year”, Whoopi Goldberg asked everyone.
Jabari visited the set of Goldberg’s show The View and sat down with the outspoken star.
Whoopi Goldberg isn’t pleased about the Oscar nominees, but she thinks folks should be mad about it more often than just once every year.
“Well you know what, I talk about God, you gotta talk about these damn movies”, Goldberg told Cameron-Bure.
Whoopi Goldberg, left, said that she didn’t support the boycott of this year’s Academy Awards because it would hurt Chris Rock. She added that the Hallmark actress “hasn’t been feeling well for the past couple hours” and added that the panelist agreed that it was time “for her to get some rest”.
Addressing the topic on her US talk show The View on Tuesday (19Jan16), the Oscar victor and Academy member also explained her belief that a boycott is not the way to tackle what she insists is a much wider problem in the movie industry. American actress, Whoopi Goldberg held no word back in her criticism of the intended boycott announced by two Hollywood heavy weight. “How do you stand it?'” Cameron-Bure said.
“She was dizzy and feeling badly before the show, but she wanted to give it her best”, the source added. The problem is that the movie makers are not asking her or any people of color to go take such roles like the Marvel film. Bure walked off set during the next commercial break.
At the end of the show, Goldberg addressed Bure’s departure again. “What I’m hoping is now there is going to be more accountability”, Gray said.
“I’m always defending religious freedom and that’s what I was talking about on ‘The View.’ I didn’t describe my personal feelings about [marriage equality]”. She speaks about unconscious prejudice and changing the standard of what we call art, saying, “I stand with my peers who are calling for change in expanding the stories that are told and recognition of the people who tell them”.
