Simmons said the snow was supposed to start late Friday but it now appears likely it won’t begin until after daybreak Saturday and won’t end until Sunday, and can impact your plans. We are monitoring its track closely because if it moves further north we are looking at another round of accumulating snow to end the work week. But it’s not yet clear where the storm will hit the hardest, he said Wednesday.
This will be the first major nor’easter snow storm of the season in a winter that hasn’t seen much snow in the eastern half of the country.
The weather service issued a winter weather advisory for other areas of Kentucky and Tennessee that calls for up to 3 inches of snow followed by light freezing rain, making travel conditions hazardous. “We’ve seen that in storms in the past”.
District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser said Wednesday that the city was preparing for blizzard conditions and up to 2 feet of snow. The strongest winds and potentially life threatening conditions are expected Friday night through Saturday night. Please see our terms of service for more information.

The storm is expected to miss northern New England.
For areas inland, 6 inches of snow or less, Simmons said. Little to no snow is in the forecast for Vermont.
