Chelsea Handler Fires Back: Lately’s Heather McDonald ‘Should Be Scared’
“My relationship with Chelsea ended”, she said.
The bitter feud was rekindled after McDonald was a guest on Matt Weiss and Theo Von’s “Allegedly” podcast last week and told the hosts she “lived in fear” of Handler.
In addition to writing for the show, McDonald made frequent appearances during the roundtable discussion segment, and she and Handler developed a friendship. Because she’s f-king scared, and she should be.
Handler continued her tirade on Jenny McCarthy’s SiriusXM radio show, saying that McDonald “would never say anything to my face”.
Handler hit back after McDonald said she “lived in fear” while working on E!’s late-night talk show “Chelsea Lately”, which ended in August 2014 after 7 years on the air. McDonald said that, “I lived in fear, 100 percent lived in fear”.
At the time, McDonald claimed she felt misled by the “Uganda Be Kidding Me?” author, only learning that her gig was up while en route to a Lakers game. “Now she should be really scared”. “I enjoyed my time there, I was happy, but something could happen and my heart would be beating and I’d be like, ‘Is this it, ‘” McDonald shared.
She said, “I just thought it was a betrayal …” “The fact that I would allow someone like that to even work for me when everybody was telling me to fire her, and she’s complaining that I wouldn’t hang out with her or discuss my negotiations. She makes you feel so special until you’re not”. “That’s none of her business”, she vented. “She hired her for seven years and if it wasn’t for her, I don’t think Heather would be in the position she’s in”, she told Radar. “You’re not a nice person every day”. “You can’t be scared to be at work, this isn’t a concentration camp”. You ought to have stopped then.
