Bush: Palin wrong to call Trump a conservative
Less than three weeks before the New Hampshire primary election, Donald Trump leads his nearest competitor by 20 points, according to a CNN/WMUR poll released on Wednesday. Ted Cruz (R-TX), lagged behind at 17 percent. Marco Rubio, came in at 11 percent, statistically unchanged from his 10 percent showing in December. Adding to the volatility of the race, just 31% of likely Republican voters say they have made up their minds about who they’ll support in next month’s primary, well below the 52% of likely Democratic voters who are certain of their choice.
Trump’s lead in Florida has increased since September from 13 points to 32 points.
In that September poll Cruz was at 6 percent, Rubio was at 19 percent and Bush held 11 percent of the vote of those surveyed.
Bush continues to struggle with favorability ratings in his home state.
Trump is the most favorable among GOP primary voters – 70 percent of which said they had a positive view of Trump.
“For her to say that Donald Trump is a conservative when he was pro-abortion in the recent past, he believed in higher taxes, he thought Hillary Clinton would be a great negotiator in Iran, he’s been all over the map in foreign policy – certainly not a conservative”, Bush said. The FAU poll found Clinton is at 62.2 percent, while Sanders is at 25.9 percent.
For its poll, Monmouth surveyed 1,003 adults by telephone from January 15 to 18, including 385 Republican voters.
