Oculus Rift VR headset will be available for pre-order from Jan

Everybody wants to know what the Oculus Rift price is and in a matter of hours that information will finally be known. It isn’t clear whether the company intends to announce more details before pre-orders begin. Also, pre-orders will not require any money upfront, allowing customers to cancel their orders before shipment. Pre-ordering opened up on Oculus’s site this morning, with a $599 price tag and a March release date for the first orders. You’ll have to search the space wreckage for resources and materials to fix your damaged vehicle and return home. A few minutes after an earlier screenshot, the expected ship date changes to April 2016.

Three and-a-half years later in 2016, the long-awaited Oculus Rift headsets will be available for pre-order on Wednesday at an undisclosed price.

The retail Oculus Rift will soon be in the hands of consumers, and now the company behind it has revealed the virtual reality headset bundle’s pricepoint.

Luckey also said that Rift preorders won’t require any kind of payment, letting buyers cancel them up until they ship.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also be conducting a Reddit AMA on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT to answer questions about the release.

The Rift headset will include built-in headphones and mic and come packaged with a sensor and an Xbox One controller. Oculus said its Oculus Studios will roll out over 20 games for the device this year, including a version of the music game Rock Band.
