Relay for Life of White Bear Lake is July 31
Relay For Life is an 18-hour event involving teams of up to 15 people keeping a baton moving in a relay style walk or run overnight, to raise vital funds for all Queenslanders affected by cancer.
Halt, now principal at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, is set to join San Clemente Councilman Bob Baker in delivering an opening address for the relay at 10 a.m. Saturday in the SCHS football stadium at 700 Avenida Pico. To date the White Bear Lake Relay for Life has raised more than $4 million for the American Cancer Society.
Both men are honoured to promote the worthy cause in their role as this year’s Relay for Life co-patrons – a worthy title given their longstanding history with the event.
Rose Cleary, Chairperson of the Candle of Hope Sub-Committee, says: “For many people, this is when the true meaning of Relay hits home”.
Then, guests are encouraged to take part in the Friday evening concert and food truck rally at Bryant Library from 5 to 9 p.m. Luminaria will be for sale for those who wish to honor a loved one.
Relay for Life Tipperary Survivors Reception Afternoon Dance takes place in the Scouts Hall, Nenagh, on Sunday July 26th from 3pm – 5pm. Light refreshments will be served.
