Dragon Ball RPG ‘Project Fusion’ revealed for 3DS
The latest issue of V-Jump magazine in Japan announced a brand new 3DS Dragon Ball game will be coming to Japan in 2016.
What the V Jump translation has revealed, however, should get Dragon Ball and RPG fans alike excited: Bandai Namco‘s new game will be a RPG for the 3DS that will feature a fusion between Goku and Broly. They even teased that the new game ‘promises entirely new enjoyment, ‘ and will present ‘unlimited possibilities’.
While it may sound interesting, the outlet believes that this does not merit any commendation, since the entire concept of “Fusion” in the franchise was penned by “Dragon Ball Z” writer Akira Toriyama when he was already “out of ideas”. This is a surprise, as fans who have been following the story know that there is no fusion between the two characters in the story.
While the Final Fantasy series ended up becoming the staple of the RPG franchise, Dragon Quest is another longtime Square-Enix franchise that dates back to the NES with Dragon Warrior. The game is, however, expected to arrive this spring in Japan, so more information will likely arrive sooner, rather than later!
Few details about the game were released, but the title suggests that fusions will be a core mechanic, and the reveal promised a fusion with Goku and Broly.
