‘The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD’ will feature Amiibo-unlocked dungeon
With the hype around the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Prince HD building, it looks like we have some ideas about what its Amiibo will do. The figures can only be used once per day so they shouldn’t break the game too badly, though there is still the chance Ganondorf might break you. It shows that the Wolf Link amiibo doesn’t so much unlock a “dungeon”, but rather a challenge area that varies in terms of the enemies it presents. Beating this area will have a few effects on your game, the biggest of which is unlocking the Bottomless Wallet, which raises the number of Rupees you can carry to 9999, a huge increase over the previous limit of 1000.
Game Rant reports that Nintendo may have to make the new dungeon unlockable through other means such as paid DLC in the Nintendo eShop given how hard it is to buy certain Amiibo. The Wolf Link amiibo has some other abilities related to storing data, but the details are a little fuzzy, since the original article in Faitsu is in Japanese, and not everything translates well.
The Link and Toon Link Amiibo will restore arrows. After conquering the cave, you can save a record of remaining hearts to the Wolf Link Amiibo and attempt to beat your score whenever you want.
The Wolf Link amiibo is not the only amiibo that can work with Twilight Princess HD.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will release exclusively for Wii U in Europe and North America on March 4th, and in Japan on March 10th.
