Apple to open iOS App Development Center in Italy
According to Apple, application development signifies a major source of workplaces in Europe, the App Store-related jobs summing up to as many as 1.4 million jobs across the continent, including software engineers and developers but also entrepreneurs or non-IT jobs in the field. It isn’t clear when the Naples-based hub will open, but Apple did say that it will be located at a partnership institution in the city.
Apple is going to open its first iOS development centre in Europe, with the aim of teaching children and young adults how to code. Moreover, the business generated through the sale of iOS apps, developed in Europe has crossed $1.1 billion globally.
Meanwhile, Apple also stated that it was mulling more iOS App Development Centers globally but no specifications were provided.
Apple is opening an educational centre dedicated to training the next wave of iOS developers. Apple recorded a record-breaking .1 billion in App Store sales during the 2015 holiday season.
By creating the development centre, it will add to job opportunities in Italy.
Roberto Macina, CEO and founder of app company Qurami, said that Apple’s continued innovation has inspired them to create the best mobile experiences and make their customers’ lives just a little bit easier.
In Italy alone, more than 75,000 jobs are attributable to the App Store.
This is the first such program in Europe, but Apple plans to roll this program out to other countries in the future.
