BSF guns down suspected intruder near Pathankot border
They had come around 50 meters inside the Indian territory under foggy conditions, sources said.
The body of the slain intruder was later found lying between worldwide border and border fence, added the BSF official.
The suspected Pakistani militant was part of a three-member group that was trying to sneak into the country from across the border in the state’s Pathankot town, the sources said. Two others accompanying the 30-year-old man fled back. “The area where the incident took place is called Taash and is in Gurdaspur sector near Bamiyal in Pathankot”, they said.
BSF troopers gunned down an intruder from Pakistan along the global border in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, an official said on Thursday.
“When challenged, the three suspected terrorists started running”. The latest action was by a trooper of the 132nd BSF battalion.
The entire area is on alert since the terror attack on the air force base earlier this month.
In both incidents, the terrorists were neutralised by security forces.
