Nintendo NX rumored to ‘work with’ PC and PS4
Update: The remaining sections of the leaked GFK survey have been posted online, detailing the console’s potential online features and more.
It later poses questions such as how much the respondent would be prepared to pay for the console, whether they would prefer to purchase it with or without an optical disk drive, and if they would be interested in accessing a service to play games that is similar to Netflix. If those specs prove to be true, it would put the NX behind its competitors, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in terms of power.
A report by IGN, meanwhile, hinted that the latest Nintendo console could work with smartphones, PCs and even rival consoles such as the PlayStation4.
As several NeoGaf visitors have pointed out, while the survey was genuinely sent out to gamers and GfK is known to be commissioned by Nintendo in the past for marketing purposes, the company is also want to invent some features and functionality just to gauge reaction.
However, a very interesting tweet came today from Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki.
Nintendo has been silent about its mysterious and still unnamed new console that’s only referred to as the Nintendo NX. Until we get official word from Nintendo, the NX may or may not include any of the features mentioned.
Again, take these reports with a grain of salt, as Nintendo has yet to announce any specific details on NX. It’s more upsetting, personally, that we wasted time in getting a comment, as the Nintendo NX rumor has essentially been debunked in the time it took to get it. I mean, 4K streaming and 900p output despite the Wii U already outputting gameplay at 1080p on certain occasions?
