The Chicago Bulls are all set to face the Golden State Warriors tonight, and it might even be a preview of the NBA Finals if the Windy City’s favorite team can somehow overcome the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs. During his 62 minutes in those two, he posted an absurd net rating of plus-55.8. Early in the first quarter against the Chicago Bulls, the Warriors took an inbounds pass after a score from Chicago.
The defending champions made a grand opening statement by dropping 34 points in the first quarter, and they never looked back as Stephen Curry paved the way with 25 points and a team-high 11 assists in 34 minutes.
Golden State, which got points from all 13 players who dressed, continued its dominance in the second. Derrick Rose led the way for Chicago, scoring 10 points on 5/6 shooting.
Rose’s hit night wasn’t almost enough, and Butler got it going too late. Chicago also played without G Kirk Hinrich (left quad contusion). Golden State interim coach Luke Walton said head coach Steve Kerr is getting more involved in preparing for each game. “I’m blessed to be able to play this game, be healthy (and) play with some great teammates”.
The backup center on that Bulls team, Bill Wennington admitted that he’s spent more time considering the 72-win season this year than in the past because of the Warriors’ chase. “I hope that it happens soon, but me and the rest of our staff have to keep preparing like it’s not going to happen, just so we’re ready to do our jobs”.
Said Green: “I feel like we kind of have had that chip back on our shoulder”.
