Schedule Calls and More With Skype’s New Update For Android
If you don’t have the instant messenger yet, you can now download Skype for Android for free via Google Play Store. Among those additions is the ability to schedule Skype calls, which is now available on Skype for Android, but not iOS. Today it’s rolling out an update for Skype for Android which adds a couple of new features to this app, like the ability to open Office documents and schedule a Skype call. You can now easily open documents, spreadsheets, and presentations that you receive in Skype chats.
Microsoft announced earlier this month that it will bring a raft of new features to its mobile apps in the coming weeks. Click on the menu found at the upper right of the screen, and select ‘Schedule a call.’ You can also use another calendar app by creating an event and sending out the invitation. When they receive one of these files, they just need to tap on the icon within Skype and the file will automatically open in the corresponding Office app with no extra steps needed.
If you don’t have either, download Skype for Android or Outlook for Android and see whether you like Microsoft apps on Android, and let us know your experience in the comments section below. Market experts suggest that Skype may update the new features in its iOS app first, as Microsoft is still in the process of integrating Skype for Windows 10.
Many Android mobile devices such as tablets and phones have a big display screen that allows users to perform various productivity tasks such as accessing and working on Microsoft Office applications. “We’ll have more to share in the future”.
