Warriors keep momentum going with 125-94 blowout win over Bulls
The Chicago Bulls host the Golden State Warriors in the most anticipated National Basketball Association games on Wednesday, start time at 8:00 PM Et, at United Center.
Like on Monday night, when the defending champions routed the Cavaliers 132-98 on their home floor, Golden State jumped out to a big early advantage and never looked back.
As already mentioned, Dereck Rose will be the key player for the Bulls but against a team like Golden State it is going to take a complete team effort. Barnes scored 11 and the Warriors simply put on a clinic in ball movement that led to 30 points in the paint.
After building a 16-point lead by the end of the first quarter, it was cruise control from there for the Warriors. The two victories marked the first time since 1972-73 that the Warriors have won back-to-back road games by 30+ points. “And I’m pretty sure you guys remember [the Bulls] had just lost to Orlando the season before [in the 1995 Eastern Conference finals] and during training camp he said every game is a playoff game and that’s the way we approached it. We had a veteran team. The only thing we can do from it is learn”.
Butler scored 10 points in a 12-4 run to start the third, pulling Chicago within 67-56 with 6:13 left in the quarter but the Warriors responded with five straight points to spark a 17-5 run. Chicago still uses the same entrance music as back in Jordan’s era, which got Curry and forward Draymond Green fired up.
Rose led all scorers with 21 points at the half as he shot 66 percent from the field. Pau Gasol had a particularly very bad game, missing all eight of his shots on his way to a one-point showing.
C Joakim Noah is expected to rejoin the Bulls soon to behin rehab work after undergoing surgery to fix a separated shoulder on Tuesday in NY.
Leandro Barbosa tossed an underhanded lob from just inside the 3-point line to Andre Iguodala for a dunk that left Curry with his hands on his head in amazement.
The game on January 20 will be the second and final regular season match between Chicago and Golden State.
Coach Steve Kerr and assistant Ron Adams attended funeral services in Chicago for former Warriors coach Johnny Bach while the team conducted its morning shootaround.
