Netflix, which came away empty-handed at the Globes despite eight nominations, scored best comedy series for Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None”.
He concluded: “I just want to thank my parents”. His final advice was “change the world, it needs it”.
It’s another bad sign for “Carol” at the Academy Awards on February 28, when the film is nominated in six categories.
The best actress in a comedy series went to Rachel Bloom for her role in The CW network show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, while Carrie Coon scooped up the best actress in a drama series award for her role in the HBO show The Leftovers.
The Critics’ Choice Awards do get stars to turn out in droves, like Matt Damon, who did not end up winning anything.
The latest ceremony in the awards season drew a host of celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Helen Mirren and Kirsten Dunst and Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan. “Sharon Stone announced the best picture award, which went to ‘Spotlight”.

Christian Slater accepts the award for best supporting actor in a drama series for Mr Robot.
Jeffrey Tambor cemented the status he’s achieved by portraying Maura Pfefferman, otherwise known as Moppa on “Transparent”, adding yet another trophy to his mantel and more awards cred for Amazon originals.
