Third Kentucky $1M Powerball prize claimed
The winning ticket was presented Tuesday at Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville. The store is eligible for a $2,500 retailer bonus. But, lottery officials said, the player also purchased the $1 PowerPlay option.
A Garden City man claimed a $1 million Powerball cash prize Wednesday morning. Had he, the prize was 900 million big ones.
One ticket was sold in Georgia with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, and is worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced. She too had played a $10 ticket.
The winning numbers are 5-39-44-47-69 with a Powerball of 24.
Jackpot winning tickets for the January 13 drawing were sold in California, Florida and Tennessee.
The odds of winning the jackpot were 1-in-292 million. Texas sales represented 8.6 percent of total Powerball sales for the drawing.
