DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: What Can We Expect from the Pilot Episode?
Ultimately though, it is the character of Rip Hunter (Darvill, who once played Doctor Who), his motivation and ability to harness the different superheroes that loom as the key to the series’ success – in much the same manner that Professor X, Magneto and Nick Fury are the more mercurial of characters in their respective universe.
The show will also feature guest appearances from Arrow characters like Green Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Black Canary (Caity Lotz), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and Ra’s al Ghul (Matthew Nable), plus The Flash characters like Barry Allen as the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon as Vibe (Carlos Valdes).
The team’s common enemy is Vandal Savage (Casper Crump, whose real name deserves a super-hero character of its own, preferably someone who wields deadly super-crumpets).
“Legends” is about a time-traveling band of superpowered beings out to save the world from the apocalyptic stylings of one Vandal Savage, who was not, I am assured, the opening act for Motley Crue circa 1983. Rip Hunter seems to have chosen this bunch by going to his local comic-book store and throwing a bunch of random 1960s issues in the air and seeing which landed first.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is adding a new Time Master to its arsenal.
