WMUR Poll: Trump leads, Cruz climbs in New Hampshire
As evidence, Cruz said his campaign had raised $700,000 since Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad dissed Cruz by calling for his defeat in the Hawkeye State.
“I would note Bernie Sanders chose not to attend”, Cruz said of the vote, where Democrats blocked an effort by Republicans to curb the flow of refugees into the USA from Iraq and Syria.
On the Democratic side, a poll this week conducted by the UNH Survey Center stunned a lot of people.
In an interview with The New York Times, the former presidential nominee said Cruz would also be worse at governing than Trump, saying the Texas senator has made enemies in Washington. And watching Ted Cruz’s utter humiliation would just be so delicious.
Cruz, who has barnstormed the frigid, snow-driven state in recent weeks, is ramping up his own attacks, criticizing Trump for praising President Barack Obama’s stimulus package, once supporting a national health care system, and for donating to Democrats. I watched him at Liberty University, I watched him in New Hampshire with Scott Brown the day before, he was incredibly gracious to a disabled woman. “I don’t know how he’s going to deal with Congress”, Dole said “Nobody likes him”. However, to say they’re suddenly “attracted” to the secret Democrat/longtime member of the GOP establishment isn’t really accurate.
The telephone survey of 413 likely primary voters showed support for Trump at 34 percent, a slight increase from 32 percent when the same poll was carried out in December.
With every day that passes leading up to the New Hampshire primary, the pressure is mounting on Republican presidential hopefuls looking to make a splash here. Bush placed fifth or sixth in all but one S.C. poll taken since late September.
In this corner, Donald Trump. Further, the report found that the most crucial early state will be New Hampshire if Trump or Cruz take Iowa. Even with his anti-Cruz comments, Branstad said he would not endorse any candidate ahead of the caucuses. “Instead, they want a principled, steady, conservative leader who will do everything necessary to protect this nation and keep America safe”.
Real estate tycoon Trump, once in the thick of a Cruz “bromance”, now calls his chief rival “a nasty guy” and a hypocrite for slamming NY values while taking money from donors in the Big Apple.
“I think she’d be a pretty easy target in the general, if we nominate the right person”, Dole said.
