Huawei P9 Release Date, Specs & Price Rumors: Four Variants Underway?
Huawei will announce a new flagship series this year which will called as P9, according to a U.S. website.
According to a person “with knowledge of the company’s plans”, Huawei intends to launch four versions of its P9 flagship smartphone. Venture Beat has it that the fourth Huawei P9 smartphone should be “feature-enhanced”, sporting a display larger than the screen of the regular P9, but smaller than the one of the P9max.
First of all, it looks like Huawei P9 now tops the multi-core benchmark with a 7313 score.
Although, not much is known about the P9 (or its three other variants) yet, the report claims that the phone (and any of its variants) will not have a QuadHD screen resolution. It’s expected that Huawei will use these features, plus add more unique abilities in the “P9 Premium/Plus”. The enhanced P9 is set to come with a dual 12 megapixel rear camera sensor for additional depth information capture, picture refocusing and aperture adjustments.
We might also see two rear cameras on the P9 with dual LED flash and a rumored 3,000 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM in a metal body and a 5.2-inch display. None of the four P9 phones will come with a QHD display resolution to improve the smartphone’s battery life. Apparently Huawei feels that the slight improvement in image quality is not worth the trade-off in power drain, meaning that the Nexus 6P will likely remain the only Huawei-built phone to offer a 1440 x 2560-pixel screen for some time.
Rumor has it the P9 is the next smartphone to be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 950 chipset. The smartphones might offer a fingerprint scanner, which will be integrated on the home button.
Huawei has not confirmed the launch date of the P9. The company will instead hold a separate event to unveil the P9 (and its variants) post MWC.
